Masoor Dal Ke Pakode




Masoor Dal or Split Red Lentils have very intense flavour. In fact, this dal cooked with onion and other aromatic spices can compete with any of intense veg or non-veg preparation.



Here we are sharing recipe for making Masoor Dal Pakode, which you can prepare and it will surely impress your family and friends.


Ingredients:
  • Soaked Masoor Dal - 1 cup
  • Rice Flour - 2 tbsp
  • Besan / Gram Flour - 3 tbsp
  • Onion - 3 nos sliced
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilies chopped- as per taste
  • Coriander chopped - 1 bunch
  • Red Chili Powder - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil for frying


Method:
  • Soak masoor dal for about 3-4 hours or overnight. Strain the water and grind but not too fine.
  • Add rice flour, besan and all other ingredients to make the dal mix. The onions are actually more, as this dish can also be called "Onion Dal Pakode"
  • Take about 1 tbsp of dal mix in hand and flatten a bit and drop gently in hot oil for frying. Fry these on medium heat till golden brown.


Enjoy them hot with chutney on the side.


Tips
  1. You can half fry these pakodas in advance if you have to prepare for guests. And then finish frying when you have to serve. This will save time; in fact you can prepare one day in advance.
Ingredients

Grind coarsely soaked masoor dal

Mix all the ingredients

Take about 1 tbsp dal mix and flatten a bit

Fry in batches on medium heat till golden brown

Half fried prepared in advance.
Final frying when required.
